Mount Merino, Binna Burra Bushwalking Map, Gold Coast

The many lookouts afford views over the Gold Coast, south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales.

For those wanting to take a hike up the mountain, the Mount Merino track is 21.6 kilometres return from Binna Burra and 24 kilometres return from the Green Mountains. The walk from Binna Burra will take most hikers approximately 8 hours to complete. This track is easy and enjoyable and is suitable for new walkers and those with a moderate fitness level.

During your walk, you will come across Chakoonya lookout which is about halfway along the Border Track. The track has spectacular views of the dense rainforests, creeks and wildlife. As there is a tendency for unpredictable weather changes in the national park, visitors are advised to carry both wet and warm weather gear while touring the area.

The Mount Merino track has sections where the track is overgrown, however, the track itself is well marked and easy to navigate without tools.
