Great Strides is a family-friendly fun run/walk raising awareness and funds for those living with cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis is the most common, life-shortening chronic illness in Australia today. A child is born with cystic fibrosis every four days. Most will not live past their twenties. There is no cure.

Great Strides Gold Coast – 2024 Dates, 5km Run/Walk, Main Beach

Get involved as an individual or a team to take on their five-kilometre fun run/walk and enjoy their community family festival at Main Beach. As well as the run/walk, there will be activities for everyone, including a barbecue, a warm-up coach, entertainment, music, raffles and more!

As a Great Strides participant, you will be raising funds and awareness for our cause. This year, Cystic Fibrosis Queensland is seeking your support to help us raise $50,000 to purchase nebulisers for children living with cystic fibrosis.

A little goes a long way. By walking or running the Great Strides 5km challenge, you are pledging your support for children living with cystic fibrosis by funding a personal nebuliser.

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland is the peak community not-for-profit charity working with and for the increasing number of people living with cystic fibrosis who attend a Queensland Health clinic for treatment. They advocate for the entire cystic fibrosis community and seek to raise much-needed awareness of this debilitating condition – 90% of their income relies on fundraising.
