Renowned as the home of the largest collection of native Australian wildlife, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary welcomes all visitors to an outstanding setting that boasts many unique animals.

Located at the southern end of the Gold Coast in the beach-side suburb of Currumbin, the sanctuary stretches over 27 hectares and is truly an oasis for all visitors.

Enjoy watching the many wildlife species on offer; consisting of over 1,400 mammals as well as many reptile and bird species. Apart from wildlife watching, you will also be able to enjoy bushwalking as you stroll through the beautiful nature trails which line the sanctuary.

There is really a lot to see and do here. Visitors with an interest in learning more about Australia’s diverse flora and fauna shouldn’t miss the various wildlife presentations and programs held throughout the day. Also, take part in the interactive sessions, where the park keepers let you get close to many of the native mammals. There are a number of child-friendly attractions and at select times throughout the park, you can hold and get your photo taken with a koala, snake, possum or echidna.

The Sanctuary also has a bird show known as the “Free Flight Bird Show”. Here, visitors will see many of Australia’s native bird species including pelicans, parrots, birds of prey, and the majestic wedge-tailed eagle.

Also located inside the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the Tree Top Challenge, a ropes course which is one of the largest in Australia. This course boasts over 80 adrenalin pumping climbs and 11 zip lines spread over 5 challenging courses.

You can bring your own lunch or enjoy some of the food in the Sanctuary Cafe including; burgers, fish & chips, chicken & chips, salad wraps, fruit salad, ice cream and cold drinks.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has a dedicated car park open seven days a week on Tomewin Street for a fee. Alternatively, there is free off-street parking nearby.
